At first glance, designer Franco Ferrari felt that the 800-square-foot builder-grade apartment lacked soul—its finishes felt flat, its layout impersonal. To transform the space, he introduced natural materials like warm wood, stone, and linen, bringing depth and texture to the otherwise stark interior.
Vintage elements—carefully sourced lighting, a timeworn rug, and a mid-century cabinet—added character and a sense of story, softening the apartment’s rigid lines. The result is a space that feels personal and grounded: subtle in palette, intimate in scale, and layered with the quiet charm of age and authenticity.

In the kitchen, stained oak open shelving introduced versatility and depth, lending to a more modern, open feel. Chrome fixtures and contemporary lighting brought a crisp, clean contrast, while a matte porcelain backsplash added a subtle texture. The mix of muted wood tones and sleek finishes gave the compact space a distinctly urban edge—polished yet organic and inviting.
In the bathroom, natural stone tiles provided a tactile foundation, paired with a streamlined floating vanity that emphasized simplicity without sacrificing impact. The result is a layered, metropolitan aesthetic—warm, refined, and grounded in the energy of city living.
