When approaching the renovation of this 7,000 square foot oceanfront home in White Rock, designer Franco Ferrari’s vision was clear: to steer away from the expected beach house aesthetic and instead craft a warm, collected atmosphere where the family could truly live and gather.
The design draws subtle inspiration from the home's stunning coastal surroundings—light, air, and texture take centre stage—without ever feeling thematic or literal. Clean lines, natural materials, and a soft, neutral palette reflect the calm of the sea, while layers of refined European influence add depth and sophistication. The result is a serene yet grounded space that feels effortlessly elegant, marrying the client's modern European taste with a distinctly West Coast sensibility.
Throughout the home, each room was thoughtfully tailored to balance openness with intimacy, creating distinct zones that flow seamlessly while still offering moments of retreat. Custom millwork, sculptural lighting, and carefully sourced furnishings lend a sense of quiet luxury, while organic textures and tactile finishes bring warmth and approachability. Expansive windows frame panoramic ocean views, allowing the natural light and landscape to become an integral part of the interior experience. It’s a home designed not just to impress, but for comfortable day to day living.
